Day 5!

Halfway through the sea days....

Today started early. 8am. That’s 4am to all you Nashville people. Once during your cruise, they have a character breakfast. They’ve just changed it over to something called “Mickey’s Island Jam”. It isn’t that it was entirely terrible, but it wasn’t enjoyable either. Pretty much it’s a show with child participation. Dancing and whatnot, but it was kind of weird since there were maybe a dozen kids in our dining room. Anyways, having the characters walk around would’ve been far more enjoyable.

Afterwards, Mother went to her reflexology appointment at the spa. Maribeth took a nap. I found heaven. That would be the all Grey’s Anatomy, all the time channel. Really, they’re just playing the Season 1 DVD over and over, but it is so great. Eventually, time passed, and Mom and MB went to a disboards scrapbook meeting. Mom had to do some of her laundry (which I had to put in the dryer, since I am such a nice daughter). Clearly she needs to take a lesson from the Molly school of packing.

After all of that, we went to lunch at Topsider’s of course. It was Italian themed today. For some reason, we never make it to an actual restaurant for lunch, preferring the buffet. Perhaps the fact that we are Deck 8 aft, and Topsider’s is Deck 9 aft plays a minor role. It’s hard to say no to food when it’s that close. Also, we take the stairs and that one flight makes a difference. Right? We will at least pretend like it does.

After that, we took some more naps. Both deck parties were cancelled today because the wind is absolutely unbearable. The rocking is also pretty bad. The pools are beginning to look like the Typhoon Lagoon wave pool since the water is sloshing around so much. Surprisingly none of us have even been remotely sick (knock on wood). You definitely notice the rocking since you run into things (or can’t even go down stairs in a straight line Mom), but it isn’t too bad. They have the entire Deck 10 pretty much roped off because of the wind.

After our twelfth nap of the day, we were booked for a tea party with Alice and the Mad Hatter. Let me preface this by saying that none of us are really Alice in Wonderland fans. (I’ve never even seen it.) It wasn’t terrible. The tea was okay, though it was iced which I found to be odd. The cookies were good. Maribeth apparently has no etiquette because she ate two of the three before the tea party actually started. She also started on the tea, so there was not enough to go around when it was needed.

After that, Mother was in need of a nap, so we all went back to the cabin. I watched some more of Beverly Hills 90210 on DVD and MB read her barefoot sisters book. We lazed around and then had dinner at Parrot Cay. I was rather unimpressed with the ‘Farewell to the Caribbean’ menu, but I guess it’s bound to happen with fourteen different menus.

Now mother and sister are doing the scrapbook and I am blogging. We are also watching Pirates of the Caribbean (maybe the second one in a bit). I’m not watching it, but they are because they need to catch up. Supposedly we are getting a premiere of the third film, and we will be sure to report on that as soon as it happens.
